Rumour has it WWE has plans to hold an upcoming draft around November, which could provide a fresh new direction for RAW, Smackdown and NXT. Not only could some WWE superstars get a much needed fresh reboot on a different brand, but a draft around the time of Survivor Series could really shape the annual brand v brand event.
So, with that in mind, lets take a look at 5 things I think should definitely happen in the next draft.
- NXT MUST BE INVOLVED
NXT, in my opinion, is in a kind of limbo at the moment. It’s neither quite the third brand, nor the developmental show it once was, but the show being part of an upcoming draft could pave the way for them becoming that third brand Vince is so desperate to have. It could also help them in their ratings war against AEW.
2. SHOTZI BLACKHEART GOES TO RAW AND JOINS THE RIOTT SQUAD
Now, let me make one thing clear here: in my mind, there was never any need to split up the Riott Squad in the first place. It did nothing for Ruby’s, Liv’s or especially Sarah Logan’s career. In the short time she has been there, Shotzi has looked very comfortable in a WWE ring on the black and gold brand. She is already very accomplished in the ring and has quickly become a fan favorite on Wednesday nights, and I personally feel she has both the personality and look that would fit perfectly with the Riott Squad.
3. JOHN MORRISON GOES TO NXT AND TURNS ON THE MIZ
As much as I am a fan of John Morrison, I don’t foresee him getting a title run on Raw or Smackdown at this point in his career. However, I think a title run in NXT could be perfect for him. Let me make this point again: Morrison moving to NXT would not be a demotion as it is more than clear at this point Vince may want it as the third brand. It would be great to see Morrison debut as ‘Johnny Dynamite’ as a direct dig at the opposition on Wednesday nights. I mean, he has pretty much been ‘Johnny everything’ in his career, so why not add on more gimmick to the list?
During the 2009 draft we saw Miz and Morrison split up during the draft, and The Miz turn on Morrison. Why not have the same thing this year, but with Morrison doing the dirty on the Miz?
4. NAKAMURA MOVES TO RAW
Shinsuke Nakamura has been on the blue brand ever since he made his debut way back in 2017. After winning the 2018 Royal Rumble, Nakamura seems to have failed to gain any more momentum in the main event picture. In my opinion, Nakamura may be the most talented in ring competitor to never win the the big one in WWE to date. A move to Raw may well reboot his WWE career, which is exactly what Nakamura needs right now. Also, a feud with Drew McIntyre would be absolutely mind blowing to watch.
5. KARRION KROSS AND SCARLETT MOVE TO RAW
This, for me, is the most important thing that has to happen in the next WWE draft. Now, granted Kross will be out of action for a sustained amount of time due to his recent injury, but in their short time in NXT both Kross and Scarlett have accomplished everything. With RAW currently lacking a lot of star power, the couple have more than enough about them for anyone to see that they could be the next big thing in WWE. Kross has been presented as an absolute killer on TV, and could easily feud with the likes of Kevin Owens and Samoa Joe if/when he returns to in ring action.
In conclusion, these are the top 5 things that I, personally would like to see in the next WWE draft, but what do you want to see?
