A SHORT GUIDE TO NXT’S SHOTZI BLACKHEART

Since joining NXT in 2019, Shotzi Blackheart has been making waves as one of the breakout stars of 2020 on the black and gold brand. Originally, working under her real name Ashley Urbanski, Shotzi tried out for WWE Tough Enough in 2015, but failed to make the final 14 after being unable to meet a medical deadline.

Under the ring name Missy Hyasshit, Shotzi made her in-ring debut in 2015, wrestling for Hoodlam Slam Wrestling and Stoner Brother University Wrestling. During the rest of 2015 and 2016, Shotzi worked the California independent circuit, wrestling for the likes of East Bay Pro-Wrestling and Big Time Wrestling. During a 2016 Grindhouse, Shotzi faced former WWE star Shelly Martinez.

In the summer of 2017, Shotzi made her debut for Shimmer, defeating Hudson Envy. She then faced the likes of Cheerleader Melissa, Veda Scott, and LuFisto. In the same month of July 2017, Shotzi made her debut for Shine in a losing effort to current Impact Wrestling star Kiera Hogan. During her time with Shimmer, she faced the likes of Mia Yim, Chelsea Green and Su Yung.

One of the stand out matches of 2017 was when Shotzi took on the now NWA woman’s champion Thunder Rosa at a Phoenix Pro Wrestling event.

In June of 2018 Shotzi had a short run in Impact Wrestling, making her debut teaming up with Tessa Blanchard in a losing effort to Allie Kiera Hogan. She went on to lose to Allie in her singles debut during the same set of TV tapings.

After returning to the indies for the rest of 2018 and the begining of 2019, Shotzi was then rewarded with an NXT contract at Evolve 137, after William Regal promised to change someone’s life that night during a meet and greet with fans.

After making her NXT debut against Bianca Belair, Shotzi has been embroiled in a feud with Robert Stone and the ‘Robert Stone Brand’, continually running him over in her iconic mini tank.

After it was announced that NXT was bringing back Halloween Havoc this year, it was also announced that Shotzi Blackheart would be hosting the event special. During the show, Shotzi went on to also involve herself in the main event between Io Shari and Candice LaRae – costing Candice the chance to win the NXT Women’s Championship title. This has now lead into a new heated feud between Shotzi and Candice, with Candice destroying her iconic tank.

With one of the most unique looks and entrances in wrestling, Shotzi Blackheart has quickly become one of the most recognisable wrestlers on TV, and is easily one of the breakout stars of 2020. The future is bright for Shotzi, and with a high profile feud starting with Candice LaRae on NXT, she could easily continue to move up the NXT ranks with a potential title shot not too far off in the distance.
