THE 5 MOST SHOCKING AEW DEBUTS TO DATE

This week on Dynamite, Paul Wight made his first on screen appearance in AEW. This came a week after the shocking announcement that he had left WWE to sign with the organisation. During his appearance, he and Tony Schiavone plugged the new upcoming AEW Dark Elevation show, but then Paul Wight dropped a bombshell in stating that a Hall of Fame-worthy wrestler will make their debut this Sunday at Revolution.

This makes it the perfect time to take a look at the 5 most shocking debuts to date in AEW:

5. MATT HARDY

Matt Hardy made his debut last March when he came to the aid of The Elite during their feud with the Inner Circle. Matt went on to team with The Elite in the Stadium Stampede match during the Double or Nothing PPV in 2020.

4. KENTA

Kenta shocked the world when he attacked Jon Moxley at Beach Break last month. The forbidden door has now been kicked down which has left limitless possibilities when it comes to working with NJPW.

3. BRODIE LEE

After months of speculation, Brodie Lee was revealed as the mysterious leader of the Dark Order. Of course there has been huge sadness due to his passing away earlier this year – however, this will not take away from Brodie’s debut as being one of the best moments in AEW’s young history.

2. JON MOXLEY

Jon Moxley shocked the wrestling world after his departure from WWE as he made his debut at Double or Nothing in 2019. Moxley has since gone on to become AEW world Champion and has feuded with Kenny Omega since making his debut.

1. STING

Despite there always having been rumours, no one really expected to see Sting debut in AEW. He made his shocking debut during the Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite back in December, coming to the aid of Cody Rhodes and Darby Allin.

With huge names being thrown out like Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, and Christian, AEW and Paul Wight have done a fantastic job in creating even more buzz for Revolution this Sunday (7th March 2021). If you want to know who is next to make a shocking debut, you will either have to order the PPV or call Mean Gene on the WCW hotline!
