After making her debut during AEW’s Women’s world title eliminator tournament, Maki Itoh has become an overnight sensation in the company. Despite her first round defeat to Ryo Mizunami, Itoh has quickly gained momentum after appearing at Revolution as Dr Britt Baker’s surprise tag team partner during the pre-show, winning the match against Thunder Rosa and Riho.

Itoh began wrestling in Japan for DDT between 2013 and 2016, before moving onto Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. Her accomplishments include winning the Ironman Heavymetalweight championship 6 times during her time in DDT, as well as winning the International Princess title once in TJPW.

Outside of the wrestling world, Itoh is best known for her time in Japanese girl idol group LinQ from 2012 to 2017. After being dismissed from the group, Itoh became the number one trend on Twitter in Japan.

After leaving the group, Itoh made her first solo appearance at the 2018 Tokyo Idol festival, and in 2019 released her first digital single, ‘Brooklyn The Hole’ which she currently uses as her wrestling entrance theme.
In 2015, Itoh played a role in the horror movie ‘Obakeyashiki Retsuden: Senritsu Meikyuu MAX’, with fellow LinQ members, before playing herself in the 2016 film ‘Minna Suitouto’, a fictional movie based on LinQ.

With immense talent and personality, Maki Itoh has all the potential to become a huge star inside the the AEW women’s division. She also brings a massive fan base with her, putting new eyes on the product and helping to progress the AEW women’s division further upwards.
