Historic record set in thrilling title match!

Smackdown opened with the Undisputed Tag Team title match between The Usos and The New Day. The fast paced thrilling match came to a close with The Usos retaining over the challengers meaning they will go on to break the record for the longest tag team title reign, previously held by The New Day at 483 days.

The first 2 matches of the Smackdown world cup took place and saw Santos Escobar advancing after defeating Shinsuke Nakamura, and Braun Strowman defeating Jinder Mahal.

Sami Zayn Vs. Butch and Ricochet Vs. Mustafa Ali are announced for next week’s Smackdown world cup matches. The winner of the tournament will face GUNTHER for the Intercontinental title (possibly at Survivor Series: Wargames)

We saw a backstage interview with LA Knight who got interrupted by Bray Wyatt which led to Bray Wyatt hitting Knight with a head-butt, Bray’s first physical altercation since Wrestlemania 37.

Also announced for next week’s Smackdown is Shayna Baszler Vs Shotzi. This came about after Shotzi won a six pack challenge to face Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series: Wargames, when backstage Shotzi was confronted by Ronda and Shayna, leading to her getting choked out by Shayna Baszler.

Zelina Vega Vs. B-Fab was set to happen but The Viking Raiders attacked both Hit Row and Legado Del Fantasma before the match. We saw the return of Sarah Logan who attacked B-Fab and posed with The Viking Raiders.

The Bloodline segment ends with a huge brawl between The Bloodline fighting The Brawling Brutes, Sheamus and Drew Mcintyre to close the show and possibly setting up for the men’s Wargames match.

Next weeks Smackdown line-up is:

– Sami Zayn Vs. Butch in the world cup tournament

– Ricochet Vs. Mustafa Ali in the world cup tournament

– Shotzi Vs. Shayna Baszler
