Night One of Wrestlemania 39 delivered in a big way, on what was one of the most enjoyable Mania events in recent memory it’s pretty difficult to pick just 5 top moments from the show. But here we go with your top 5 moments from Wrestlemania Night One:
5: A Showcase Match that Delivered Big
The men’s fatal 4 way match could easily have been the throw away match of the night but what we got was an outstanding match with some great moments including Chad Gable German Suplexing Braun Strowman.
4: Legends Stand Tall
I wasn’t heavily invested in the story of Damage CTRL vs Becky Lynch, Trish Stratus & Lita heading into Wrestlemania, but the match delivered and showed both Trish & Lita are still two of the greatest to do it in the ring today.
3: Prison Didn’t Help Dominik Mysterio Beat His Father
Wrestlemania proved to be Dominik’s break out moment in only the second father vs son match in Wrestlemania history. Despite a grand entrance and help from the Judgment Day, Dom came up short with Rey Mysterio proving he not quite ready to retire yet.
2: A Star Is Born
Rhea Ripley looked every bit of the star we all thought she would become when she defeated Charlotte Flair to become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Considering Rhea is still only 26 years old, she has the potential to become one of greatest to ever grace a professional wrestling ring.
1: They Did It!
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn are your new tag team Champions after dethroning the Usos. In what is best story in wrestling today, Owens & Sami claimed their first WWE tag titles – which could see the beginning of the end for The Bloodline…?
