WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley, known for his impressive in-ring career alongside Bubba Ray, made a successful transition to a behind-the-scenes role as a producer in WWE in 2016. However, controversy surrounding his exit from the company arose when he was denied permission to make an appearance at an independent show for Battleground Championship Wrestling, which reportedly almost led to his termination by Triple H.
Shortly after the incident, D-Von left WWE, but he expressed gratitude towards the company, Triple H, and Vince McMahon for the time he spent there. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, D-Von addressed the possibility of a potential return to WWE and shared his thoughts on his relationship with Triple H, Vince McMahon, and Stephanie McMahon since his departure.
D-Von stated, “I don’t have any ill feelings, but I’m done. I think I’m finished. I’m not gonna say never. Because in this business, you never say never. I do know that. But at the same token, the way I feel right now, there’s no reason for me to go back.” He acknowledged that many of his peers from his time in the industry have moved on, but he emphasized that the primary goal is to make money and have job security.
Expressing gratitude, D-Von said, “Vince, I thank Triple H, Stephanie, and the whole McMahon family for allowing me to come in there. And to do what I did, I have no hard feelings. I have none whatsoever. We agreed to disagree towards the end. And that was when I knew that it was time to leave.”
Although a return to WWE seems unlikely for D-Von, he remains hopeful that his sons may have the opportunity to follow in his footsteps and achieve success within the company. While he may have closed the door on his own WWE career, D-Von keeps the possibility open for future generations.
