According to recent reports, Liv Morgan’s return to WWE television has been put on hold due to an injury. The Women’s Tag Team Titles were relinquished on the May 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, as it was announced that Liv Morgan would be unable to defend the championships alongside Raquel Rodriguez. To determine new champions, a Fatal 4-Way match has been scheduled for the May 29 episode of Monday Night Raw, featuring Raquel Rodriguez & Shotzi, Ronda Rousey & Shayna Baszler, Bayley & IYO SKY, and Chelsea Green & Sonya Deville.
Morgan sustained the injury during the May 12 episode of SmackDown, where she and Rodriguez successfully defended the tag titles against Bayley and IYO SKY. Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer has reported that Morgan suffered a shoulder injury, potentially requiring surgery. Additionally, Mike Johnson of PWInsider mentioned the possibility of a torn rotator cuff. Unfortunately, it is expected that Morgan will be absent from WWE TV for an extended period.
Liv Morgan has gained popularity as a talented performer on WWE TV in recent years. In addition to her tag team title reign with Raquel Rodriguez, Morgan achieved success as the former SmackDown Women’s Champion when she cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase during the summer of 2022. However, her current injury setback will delay her return to the spotlight in WWE.
