Originally, the show was planned to be held at the United Center in Chicago, with CM Punk’s return to the company being a major highlight after his infamous All Out media scrum incident. However, there have been recent complications in the relationship between Punk and AEW, reportedly tied to the status of Ace Steel within the company. Consequently, the announcement of the show’s location was delayed by a week compared to the rest of the Collision dates.
In the event that Punk would not be appearing on the show, AEW had a backup location in mind, with Daily’s Place, the spiritual home of AEW, being one of the reported options.
However, recent developments suggest that these contingency plans may no longer be necessary. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer took to Twitter to share the current belief that CM Punk will indeed make his return to AEW on the debut episode of Collision on June 17. Meltzer also indicates that the show will be held in Chicago, and the official announcement will be made during tonight’s episode of Dynamite. The manner in which Punk’s return to the company will be revealed remains unknown.
As fans eagerly await the revelation of AEW Collision’s location and CM Punk’s highly anticipated comeback, tonight’s Dynamite episode promises to be a pivotal moment in the promotion’s history.
