Willow Nightingale Expresses Hope for Increased NJPW STRONG Women’s Title Exposure on AEW

Willow Nightingale made history as she emerged victorious in the finals of the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship tournament at NJPW Resurgence, defeating Mercedes Mone to become the inaugural champion. Prior to her triumph, Nightingale overcame Momo Kohgo in the semifinals.

During the latest episode of AEW Dynamite, a video package showcased Willow and her remarkable title win, garnering attention from fans. In a recent appearance on Busted Open Radio, Willow shared her thoughts on the potential for the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title to receive more exposure on AEW TV.

“I hope that moving forward, we can shine a bigger spotlight on this championship. As we approach pay-per-view events, those matches [AEW Women’s Title and AEW TBS Title matches] will naturally take center stage and receive more emphasis. I’m thrilled that we had a moment to acknowledge and discuss this achievement. In my future appearances for AEW or Ring of Honor, I aspire to demonstrate my strength and live up to the title’s name. Tony Khan is well aware of the plans for AEW and the upcoming Dynamite episodes. It would be fantastic to be included and participate in an exciting championship match. It was a joyful experience to express my thoughts and receive a warm reception from the locker room, with everyone addressing me as ‘champ.’ It takes a moment to get accustomed to it, but I embrace it with a smile and express my gratitude,” Willow expressed.

The date for Willow’s first title defense as the NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion has yet to be announced.
