Thunder Rosa recently provided an update on her current status. Since August 2022, Rosa has been unable to defend the AEW Women’s World Championship due to an injury. As a result, an interim champion was crowned at AEW All Out 2022, and the interim title was later solidified as the lineal championship when Jamie Hayter defeated Toni Storm at AEW Full Gear 2022. While Rosa has been absent from the ring, she made a brief appearance on the May 10 episode of AEW Dynamite and has also been advertised for AEW Collision.
During an interview with NBC Chicago, Rosa was asked about her recovery progress. She expressed that things are going well, and she is hopeful of making a return to the ring, if circumstances allow.
“The recovery is going pretty well. I’m following the expected timeline, and the best part is that I have been pain-free. It was crucial for me. Although it felt like it took forever, I want to assure everyone that I am working out every day, pushing myself to get back into the ring as soon as possible, if it’s feasible. That’s my primary objective,” Rosa shared.
When questioned about what AEW Collision signifies for her career, Rosa conveyed her openness to all possibilities. She highlighted how she has discovered various aspects of her career, including commentating, radio hosting, singing, and vlogging. She expressed her enthusiasm for whatever lies ahead and stressed the significance of embracing the present moment. Rosa also expressed her excitement for AEW Collision and the new opportunities it brings.
“That’s an excellent question. I’m genuinely open to any path my career takes. After the injury and reflecting on the past nine, nearly ten months, I’ve embraced the idea of exploring different avenues. I’ve ventured into commentating, hosting a radio show, showcasing my singing talent, and creating new content constantly. So, in terms of professional wrestling, I don’t anticipate it being any different. I will find joy in whatever unfolds in my career. Living in the moment is crucial, and with AEW Collision and the opportunities it offers, featuring incredible individuals like Miro, FTR, MJF, and many others, it’s going to be an exhilarating experience. It will be a fresh start on a new show, and we’re all eagerly looking forward to it,” Rosa remarked.
