Report: Two Big AEW Contracts Are Coming To An End Soon

There are indications that two prominent wrestlers in All Elite Wrestling (AEW) may be leaving the promotion in the near future.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, RUSH’s contract with AEW, which is believed to be a one-year deal, is set to expire soon. El Toro Blanco, as he is known, made his AEW debut in May 2022 under a per-appearance agreement. However, in September of the same year, it was announced that he had signed a full-time contract with the promotion. On the other hand, Andrade El Idolo reportedly signed a three-year deal with AEW in 2021, but he believes that his contract will actually expire in a few months. It is worth noting that AEW has the option to extend his contract due to his absence from action since September 2022, following a torn pectoral muscle injury. El Idolo is scheduled to make his comeback on the debut episode of Collision on June 17.

Recently, RUSH parted ways with AAA, leading to speculation, as mentioned by Meltzer, that he may have opened the door for potential discussions with WWE about joining their ranks. However, there have been rumors suggesting that RUSH might be exploring options with both AEW and WWE to secure the most favorable deal for himself. On the other hand, Andrade had expressed his desire to leave AEW several months ago but was unable to obtain his release.

Regarding any potential talks between WWE and the members of La Faccion Ingobernable, discussions would only take place after their contracts expire, as WWE is cautious about tampering with AEW wrestlers’ agreements. It is worth mentioning that WWE reportedly approached several AEW talents in the summer of 2022, seeking to recruit them, which prompted AEW’s legal team to send a cease-and-desist letter to their competition.
