According to a report from Fightful Select, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is potentially considering bringing in Chris Hero, a respected wrestling figure, to join their ranks. While the exact role is not specified, Hero is being looked at for a backstage position within the company. It is revealed that Hero was scheduled to be present in Chicago for AEW Collision’s debut and was expected to work with the company on a trial basis.
Hero, who has not competed in a wrestling match since his release from WWE more than three years ago, has expressed in a recent interview with Grapsody’s Righteous Reg and Phil Lindsey that he has not retired from wrestling. He stated that he is patiently waiting for the right opportunity to come along. Independent promoters have also shown interest in booking him for their events in the past, confirming his ongoing relevance in the wrestling community.
While it remains unclear whether AEW has plans for Hero to wrestle, it’s worth noting that several wrestlers on the AEW roster share a history with him. This could potentially lead to interesting collaborations and storylines if Hero were to join the promotion.
