Update On Backstage Reaction To CM Punk’s Promo On Collision

According to a report from Fightful Select, CM Punk’s recent AEW Collision promo caused quite a stir backstage. The promo featured a few notable moments that caught the attention of people behind the scenes. One such moment was when Punk removed the AEW mic flag, which reportedly mirrored a similar action he had taken during a WWE angle in the past. Opinions on Punk’s promo varied, with some believing that he was expressing what he needed to say, while others viewed it as hypocritical considering his previous dissatisfaction with the Hangman program, promos, and outlined spots.

It’s worth mentioning that while there were non-disclosure agreements in place between the Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, and CM Punk, no such agreement existed between Hangman Page and CM Punk.

Another noteworthy line from Punk’s promo was “One Bil Phil,” where he claimed a WWE executive called him. This line is believed to be a reference to rumors circulating internally about a potential billion-dollar AEW broadcast deal with Warner Bros Discovery.

Following the match, Punk was checked by trainers as a precautionary measure but was reportedly fine. Sources close to the Young Bucks indicated that they took the promo lightheartedly and assured those who asked that everything was okay.

CM Punk is expected to appear on the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite, although his participation has not been officially announced yet. Additionally, his planned match with KENTA at Forbidden Door has not been confirmed, with reports suggesting it’s not a done deal. Previously, there were talks of a feud between Punk and Chris Jericho, but no recent updates have been shared on that front. There were also plans for singles matches involving Samoa Joe and Switchblade Jay White during Punk’s return, but it seems there have been some changes in those plans as well.
