Better Wrestling Experience has reported that Carmelo Hayes, the reigning NXT Champion, might potentially be slated for a match on Raw against a formidable opponent at the main-event level. The identity of Hayes’ prospective challenger remains unknown at this time. While the NXT Champion has previously competed on the main roster, those instances were limited to matches on Main Event, which is typically recorded prior to Monday Night Raw.
Currently engaged in a heated feud over the coveted NXT Championship with Baron Corbin, Carmelo Hayes is scheduled to lock horns with his rival on June 27 during night two of NXT Gold Rush. In recent weeks, WWE has strategically incorporated numerous main roster talents into the NXT brand, aiming to reaffirm its status as a bona fide third brand within the company.
Furthermore, several engaging segments have been announced for WWE Raw, including a women’s Money in the Bank summit, Dominik Mysterio calling out Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins addressing his physical condition ahead of his imminent World Heavyweight Title bout against Finn Balor at Money in the Bank. WWE’s upcoming pay-per-view event is scheduled to emanate from The O2 in London, England, on Saturday, July 1.
