Notably, a special guest is expected to grace the finals, as reported by Dark Puroresu Flowsion on Twitter. The legendary Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger is said to be in attendance for the Collision show.
Liger himself confirmed the news through a tweet, stating his current whereabouts and travel plans. He expressed excitement about being invited as a guest for Owen Hart’s memorial tournament, and he looks forward to returning to Calgary, Canada, after a long time.
Liger shares a history with the Hart family, dating back to the late 1980s when he wrestled as Keiichi Yamada in Bruce Hart’s Stampede Wrestling during his excursion from New Japan Pro Wrestling. Yamada and Owen Hart formed tag teams in Calgary and competed against each other in singles and tag matches in New Japan, with their last encounter taking place in 1991.
While the specific role that Liger will play in Collision is unknown, the event is set to take place in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It serves as the fitting location for the Owen Hart tournament finals, concluding AEW’s recent Canadian tour.
