Night 9

NJPW G1 Climax 33 Night 9 took place in Ota the birth place of NJPW and the A & B block would take center stage.

Night 9 was stacked with some high profile encounters which led up to the billing as we also reached the stage where wrestlers could get mathematically eliminated. Kaito Kiyomiya took on Gabe Kidd which quickly escalated into a full out brawl which spilled out around the venue. The brawl got so intense the referee could not get them back into the ring and applied the 20 count which led to the match being a draw but this time as a double countout. They continued to brawl after the match and had to be separated multiple times in the end, the young lions managed to take Kaito backstage but after taunting the crowd Kidd chased after them. Tensions continued to flare as ELP got his hands on KENTA which instantly escalated into an all out fight. They do brawled all over the venue and into the crowd, but this time the referee didn’t even get to start the match. After a good while KENTA who busted ELP wide open got him into the ring and the match officially started but ELP managed to steal the win.

In the semi-main, SANDAD stayed prefect as he beat Ren Narita meaning regardless of what happens in his block SANADA has booked his place in the last 8 while also mathematically eliminating Ren Narita from this year’s G1. The main event was old rivals face off and Will Ospreay faced Kazuchika Okada. Yano also gets his first points by once again getting a upset win over the D block leader Jeff Cobb. Night 11 was the penultimate night for A & B block and saw Kazuchika Okada defeated KENTA in the main event to take back the lead of the B block. Okada took back control of the B block because Will Ospreay ended up losing in another upset to Tanga Loa via a count out where after fighting in the crowed, Tanga Loa made his way back towards the ring, but instead of getting into the ring he waited outside of it and as Ospreay came back, Loa hit a spear around the Referee’s 17 count, before rolling into the ring for the win. The semi win saw Yota Tsuji get the win over Shota Umino. SANADA stays winning avoiding a loss by gaining the victory over Gabb Kidd who made it as brutal as he could.

Night 15

NJPW G1 Climax 33 Night 15 and we move over to the final night of C block from Yokohama.

Night 15 was the last of C block matches with 5 competitors still with a chance of advancing. It saw Tama Tonga defeat HENARE to give himself a chance of advancing depending on other results. In the semi-main we had a heated battle between the NJPW STONG Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston and the NEVER Openweight Champion David Finlay. It was Finlay picking up the win and confirming his spot in the ‘Elite 8’ also, confirming himself as the winner of the C Block. This result meant that in the quarterfinal round David Finlay will face Will Ospreay.

In the Main event it saw Shingo Takagi take on EVIL where if Shingo Won it would result in Shingo in a tie with Tama Tonga and since they went to a time limit draw against each other, they would need to square off in a tie breaker match after the main event. However, it was not meant to be as EVIL got the win, much to the despair of the crowd and the fans worldwide. EVIL would be the 2nd seed of the C Block which means he will face the A Block winner the IWGP World Heavyweight Champion SANADA in the quarterfinals.
