Saraya, known as Paige, recently shared insights regarding her departure from WWE and the potential for a future return under Triple H’s leadership in AEW.
Back in June 2022, Paige made the announcement that she would be parting ways with WWE in July of the same year.
She then joined AEW in September 2022 and made her in-ring comeback at AEW Full Gear in November, marking her first match since her neck injury in December 2017.
During an interview with Inside the Ropes, Saraya discussed the nuances of her final years in WWE and shed light on her eventual departure, stating:
“They were like, ‘What are you gonna do? We could always do Zooms and all this kind of fun stuff.’
“Anyway, after a while I got the call from John Laurinaitis, and he was just like, ‘We’re not gonna renew your contract.’ And I was like, ‘That’s totally fine. You know, I don’t wrestle anymore, I don’t know what you would have [done with me].’ And that’s, that’s perfectly fine.
“We left on really good terms, which I appreciate from Vince [McMahon] and Johnny.”
“I had that conversation with Hunter and he was really, really great. And he was like, you know, if you want to come back the doors open, you know, and it’s, he was really, really gracious and kind and he always has been.”
