Update On Nixed Bray Wyatt Creative Plans

According to a report from Fightful Select, there were plans in 2019 for Bray Wyatt’s puppets to come to life as part of a stable that included Eric Young and Mike Bennett. Although these plans did not progress very far, there were subsequent pitches for their involvement. Paul Heyman had pitched the idea to both Bennett and Young, but only Bennett received the pitch. One of the concepts involved Bennett performing as Sister Abigail. However, these plans did not come to fruition.

In the case of Eric Young, who recently requested and was granted his release from WWE before returning to IMPACT Wrestling at Slammiversary, there were creative plans for him as well. He was intended to be part of a new-style version of the Wyatt Family alongside Bray Wyatt and Bo Dallas, who portrayed Uncle Howdy on WWE TV. These creative plans were set in January and were supposed to begin after WrestleMania. Unfortunately, Bray Wyatt’s undisclosed illness and the absence of Bo Dallas prevented the angle from taking off. By the time it was scheduled to start, Young had already requested his release, citing moral and creative concerns tied to working with Vince McMahon as his reason for leaving.

Additionally, there were ideas for Alexa Bliss to join the stable, but those plans were scrapped due to her maternity leave, as it became clear she would not be available for the entirety of 2023.
