DDT Pro-Wrestling held one of its biggest if not the biggest show of their calendar year. “Wrestle Peter Pan 2023” event took place on July 23 from Ryogoku Sumo Hall which had a stacked 12 match card featuring 3 Championship matches.

The first title match of the night was for the KO-D Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship which saw the team Eruption – Yukio Sakaguchi, Saki Akai & Hideki Okatani defeat HARIMAO – Kazusada Higuchi, Ryota Nakatsu & Yuki Ishida to become new champions when Okatani pinned Ishida (9:27) with a double Arm Suplex following a one Legged Dropkick to get the win.
The second Championship match of the night was for the DDT UNIVERSAL Championship. The ‘Indy God’ adds another title to his name as he defeated Tetsuya Endo for the belt via pinfall (15:34) with Raido Silence after a low blow from Steph De Lander. After the match TJPW star Maki Itoh appeared via a video message issuing a title challenge for Matt Cardona’s newly won title.
The Last of the 3 Championship matches was the Main event of the show and it was for the KO-D Openweight Championship. The match saw The King of DDT 2023 Winner Chris Brookes defeat Yuji Hino for the title, getting the pinfall victory (21:04) with the Praying Mantis Bomb following Double Knees to be crowned new HO-D Openweight Champion. After the match, the first challenger for the new champion already appeared in the form of former 3-time champion Shigehiro Irie. Thus Chris Brookes first defence match as been set to take place on September 9 at DDT “BIG BANG 2023” event in Ota Ward General Gymnasium, Tokyo.
