AEW Turned Down The Chance Of Signing Bret Hart

In a recent report by Fightful Select, it was revealed that AEW star Orange Cassidy is working as a road agent behind the scenes.

Wrestling writer Brian R. Solomon shared his thoughts on Twitter, suggesting that with experienced figures like Arn Anderson, Jake Roberts, Tazz, Billy Gunn, Christian Cage, Chris Jericho, Dustin Rhodes, and Sting in the locker room, they should be considered as road agents. Solomon also mentioned that during his interview with Bret Hart for his book,

Bret offered to agent for AEW, but they only wanted him as a manager like Tully, Arn, and Jake. Despite the opportunity to have Bret Hart coach their talent, AEW chose to decline the offer, using him as a TV character instead.

His post reads: “I’m actually a big fan of Orange Cassidy and his work. But in a company that has Arn Anderson, Jake Roberts, Tazz, Billy Gunn, Christian Cage, Chris Jericho, Dustin Rhodes and Sting in the locker room, shouldn’t they be the ones being tapped to be road agents? When I recently interviewed Bret Hart for my book, he told me that he offered to agent for them, but they only wanted to bring him in as a manager like Tully, Arn, Jake, etc.. Imagine having the ability to have Bret Hart coach your talent [but instead] saying no just be a TV character.”

Bret Hart’s notable appearance was at AEW’s inaugural pay-per-view, Double or Nothing 2019, where he revealed the AEW World Championship title belt. His most recent wrestling appearance was at WWE Clash at the Castle pay-per-view in Cardiff, Wales, last year.
