RVD Enters All Elite Wrestling Scene.
In a surprise appearance, ‘The Whole F’n Show’ Rob Van Dam made his presence felt on the August 2 episode of AEW Dynamite. The purpose of his appearance was to address Jack Perry. Earlier, Jerry Lynn, set to have an encounter with Perry, acknowledged the impossibility of a medical clearance for Perry to compete.

Lynn then revealed he had a solution – an old friend who still wrestles. Shortly thereafter, RVD stormed into the ring, eliciting enthusiastic cheers from the Tampa, Florida audience. As Van Dam entered the ring, Perry hastily exited and appeared to retreat. An attempt by Perry to re-enter the ring with a chair when Lynn and RVD were sharing an embrace was swiftly thwarted, forcing him to retreat once more.
As the episode drew to a close, it was officially announced that Perry would defend his FTW Championship against Rob Van Dam on the August 9 episode of Dynamite. The match will adhere to FTW rules.
