Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael Hospitalized in Intensive Care for Sepsis and Pneumonia

Steve “Mongo” McMichael, renowned as a former WCW US Champion and an iconic Chicago Bears player, finds himself in a critical condition as he battles sepsis and pneumonia, as reported by his wife.

Adding to his challenges, McMichael is already engaged in a fight against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly referred to as Lou Gehrig’s disease. This diagnosis was pronounced in January 2021.

McMichael’s presence is etched in the minds of wrestling enthusiasts due to his affiliation with the Four Horsemen during his tenure in WCW and his role as a commentator on WCW Nitro. His legacy includes a previous WCW United States Championship win. Beyond the squared circle, McMichael clinched a Super Bowl victory as part of the 1985 Chicago Bears team.

Having concluded his NFL career in 1994, McMichael transitioned to WCW in 1995. Amidst these battles, the thoughts and well-wishes of fans are directed towards his health and recovery.
