NJPW top star Kazuchika Okada has recently commented on Ibushis return to a Japanese wrestling ring. Okada said “I was deeply moved by Ibushi’s return to the ring (8/4 GLET, Ryogoku). It was good to see him perform. I hope he can wrestle like Ibushi again without getting injured. I would like to fight him again someday. Of course, I would like to continue our story. I hope we can do it somewhere.”

Okada referrd to Ibushi’s return in Japan rather than his AEW appearance. Kota Ibushi made his big return to the Japanese ring after almost 2 years, on August 4 at GLEAT Ver.MEGA event from Ryogoku Kokugikan (Sumo Hall) in Tokyo. Ibushi competed in a 5-on-5 Super Premium Elimination match which saw the GLEAT Rising Army (El Lindaman, Kaito Ishida, Takanori Ito, Soma watanabe & Check Shimatani) vs. Ibushi-gun (Kota Ibushi, Shuji Ichikawa, Hagane Shinno, Daisuke Sekimoto & Yumehito Imanari). The ‘Golden Star’ managed to win the match for his team by being the sole survivor last eliminating Ishida (35:54) following the Kamigo Ye.

After the match, Ibushi said “GLEAT really is great”, he also told Ishida he can have a singles match with him anytime, anywhere. El Linderman got the closing comment as he stated that Ishida isn’t the only one seeking to fight Ibushi.
