Their rivalry began with their initial encounter at the Full Gear pay-per-view in 2020, when the Young Bucks emerged victorious. A follow-up battle transpired on an April 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, with FTR claiming victory. This match held the distinction of being a dual championship affair, encompassing the ROH & AAA World Tag Team Championships.
Notably, this marks the Young Bucks’ return to the AEW pay-per-view tag team scene since their participation at Double Or Nothing 2022, where they faced The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) and suffered defeat.
