CM Punk’s recent spotlight moment occurred after the conclusion of the latest AEW Collision show, but the buzz generated wasn’t attributed to his on-air actions. Taking the microphone in hand, Punk unexpectedly launched into an unscripted tirade against Hangman Adam Page. Additional details have emerged regarding this incident.
A Wrestling Observer update clarified that Punk’s segment was not preplanned within a storyline or any similar context. Hangman Adam Page had been dispatched to Greensboro for the filming of a backstage pre-tape interview meant for the upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite. However, upon his arrival, he was informed that the interview would need to be conducted off-site, and he was advised not to attend the Collision show itself. Notably, Page had not been scheduled for an appearance during the Collision episode.

It’s important to note that the interview Page was scheduled to tape differed from the Jim Ross interview featuring Kenny Omega, which was filmed for the following Wednesday’s Dynamite episode but not in Greensboro on the night in question.
During the Collision show, CM Punk elicited a mixed reaction from the audience. However, when he directed his comments towards Hangman Page, the crowd responded with resounding boos. After the snippet of Punk’s speech made rounds on social media, he expressed his affection for the fans, assuring them of his love while also highlighting increased ticket sales compared to their last visit to the venue.
While CM Punk and the Young Bucks reportedly have an understanding not to publicly criticize each other, this agreement does not encompass Hangman Adam Page.
