The recent AEW Collision/CM Punk situation has garnered attention from various perspectives. According to information from Fightful Select, on August 13, Ryan Nemeth arrived in North Carolina before tapings but was sent home shortly after. Allegedly, Punk approached Nemeth during the Chicago Dynamite event and asked him to address his “softest man alive” tweet. They had a conversation in a hallway where Punk expressed his concerns about the tweet.
Nemeth apologized and they shook hands. It’s been noted that Punk didn’t want Nemeth on Collision, possibly due to the tweet or his relationship with the Elite. Christopher Daniels was also kept from Collision because Ace Steel, Punk’s friend, isn’t permitted there. Despite rumors, Punk still aims to converse with Hangman Page, Young Bucks, and Kenny Omega, but they’re reportedly reluctant.

There’s speculation that Punk is trying to create an angle, causing some in the Elite to distance themselves. Although suspicions point to CM Punk, it’s not definitively confirmed as the reason behind the talent changes. This situation has roots dating back to speculations about Colt Cabana’s re-signing. While Tony Khan’s response isn’t fully known, he was reportedly excited for Punk’s return, as noted audibly during an encounter at Gorilla position.
