Following the tragic passing of Bray Wyatt (Windham Rotunda), there has been a notable update regarding tonight’s WWE SmackDown (August 25) show. WWE had earlier outlined various segments for the event, including a Jimmy Uso promo and a WWE Women’s Championship defense between IYO SKY and Zelina Vega.
Given the circumstances, it’s evident that plans are likely to undergo changes in light of Windham Rotunda’s untimely demise. As per PWInsider’s report, there are additional names being brought into the show. Notably, Cody Rhodes and Braun Strowman are being incorporated into the event, although it remains uncertain if either of them will make on-camera appearances.

These two individuals share a close connection with Wyatt. Cody Rhodes is the son of Dusty Rhodes, a significant figure in Bray Wyatt’s rise during his NXT days. Similarly, Braun Strowman, having developed a strong bond with Wyatt during their time in the Wyatt Family, is also the Godfather of Wyatt’s son, Knash.
It appears that Cody Rhodes and Braun Strowman have been included in the show due to their personal links with Wyatt. Notably, Rhodes usually features on Raw, and Strowman has been sidelined due to injury for a considerable period. This makes their presence on SmackDown tonight particularly noteworthy, as they wouldn’t have been part of the show on most occasions.
