A cage match clash between Trish Stratus and Becky Lynch is on the horizon, scheduled for WWE Payback on September 2. The animosity between these two competitors traces its origins back to the April 10 edition of WWE Raw, where Trish’s betrayal of Becky led to their downfall, relinquishing the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. Stratus took Lita’s place in the title defense, but her attack on Lita further intensified the tensions.
In a conversation with Joshua Axelrod of the Post-Gazette, Trish shared her thoughts on the impending match and the ongoing rivalry with Lynch.

“finally put an end to all the time [Lynch has] wasted in my life. It’s a challenge. Am I a little scared of it? Yup. But that’s what drives me. … I’m going to prove to Becky that I’m the greatest of this generation by beating the greatest of her generation. We’ve had a good little run and it’s been really fun. But it’s been a little long. I’m ready to move on, do other things and cross paths with other people.”
