AJPW “Giant Series 2023” continued on September 3 at Aore Nagaoka in Niigata. The card saw some great action throughout the card. First, DDT Pro’s Eruption successfully defended both the AJPW TV Six Man Tag Team titles (V1) and the KO-D Six Man Tag Team titles (V2) against All Japan’s ATM, Black Menso~re & Sendai Girls’ DASH Chisako in a Double Title Match when Sakaguchi pinned Menso~re (11:56) following God’s Right Knee after a Sandwich Soccer Ball Kick to get the win & retain the titles.
NJPW’s IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi faced off against AJPW’s Jr heavyweight top prospect Rising HAYATO in a special single match, which saw the NJPW star pick up the win by pinfall (14:40) with the TIME BOMB following a Hiromu-chan Bomber.
The Main Event was for the AJPW Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship, which saw the Champion Yuma Aoyagi retain his championship against challenger and “Royal Road Tournament 10th” winner NJPW’s Satoshi Kojima. Aoyagi gained the victory when he pinned Kojima (18:12) with THE FOOL following a Rockstar Buster for the win. After the match, Aoyagi thanked Kojima then called out Ryuki Honda to be the next challenger as Honda defeated Aoyagi recently in the first round of the Royal Road Tournament 10th. The champion issued the challenge for his next Triple Crown challenger at Korakuen Hall on September 23rd.
