Chirs Brooks makes Successful First Title Defence

In an electrifying main event at DDT Pro-wrestling’s “BIG BANG 2023,” Chris Brookes successfully defended his KO-D Openweight Championship (V1) against Shigehiro Irie. The thrilling contest unfolded at Ota Ward Gymnasium in Tokyo and concluded when Brookes secured a hard-fought victory by pinning Irie (27:36) via a second consecutive Praying Mantis Bomb to retain his championship.

Following this epic new chapter of the Brooks vs. Irie rivalry, Brookes wasted no time in making his intentions known. He called out Saki Akai and, with unwavering determination, nominated her as his next challenger for the prestigious KO-D Title. Saki, responding with a defiant slap across Brookes’ face, accepted the challenge, and the match was officially confirmed for September 24 at DDT’s “Who’s Gonna TOP? 2023” event, set to take place at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
