The scheduled bout for the upcoming AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view in Seattle hangs in the balance. During this week’s AEW Dynamite Grand Slam event, a situation arose when Adam Cole rushed to assist AEW World Champion MJF in his title bout against Samoa Joe.
Unfortunately, Cole suffered an ankle injury during this intervention and was subsequently transported to the hospital after the show. As of now, there has been no official diagnosis of his injury.
Following Dynamite, on the Rampage tapings, a four-way tag team contest occurred to determine the number one contenders for Cole and MJF’s ROH World Tag Team Championship. The victorious team, Vincent and Dutch of the Righteous, were slated to challenge Cole and MJF at WrestleDream. However, this match’s fate now hangs in the balance.

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there have been no updates regarding Cole’s condition, leaving many concerned about the potential severity of his injury. With the absence of any updates on Cole’s status, the WrestleDream match is rumored to be at risk.
It’s worth noting that Cole wasn’t the only wrestler to sustain an injury on Dynamite, as Jon Moxley reportedly suffered a concussion during his encounter with Rey Fenix.
