Matt Riddle Released From WWE

WWE Part Ways with Matt Riddle.

Matt Riddle took to social media to announce his departure from WWE, informing fans of the news.

“Just wanted to inform everyone that I’m no longer with WWE. Thank you for the memories and opportunities also thank you to all the fans for the support and love you give me every time I go out to the ring. See you all soon.”

Riddle’s most recent WWE appearance took place on the September 4 episode of WWE Raw, where he teamed up with Drew McIntyre. He had been actively involved in an ongoing storyline alongside McIntyre before his hiatus from television.

However, Riddle’s absence from WWE television began following an incident at JFK airport in which he accused an officer of sexual harassment. This accusation was initially made in an Instagram post but was subsequently deleted on September 10. According to reports, Port Authority officers were summoned due to reports of a disorderly passenger disembarking from a flight, and it was alleged that Riddle was the individual involved. This situation prompted an internal investigation.

Additionally, Riddle faced a setback when reports emerged that he had failed a WWE drug test in December 2022, leading him to enter rehab. He was scripted out of WWE programming as of the December 4 episode of WWE Raw but later made his return in April 2023.

In the summer of 2020, Riddle faced accusations of sexual assault from female independent wrestler Candy Cartwright. Riddle vehemently denied these allegations, and although a lawsuit was filed by Cartwright in October 2020, it was eventually dropped in July 2021.
