WWE Hall of Famer Edge concluded his WWE contract with a victory over Sheamus in Toronto on SmackDown last month. Following this match, Edge disclosed that his contract had expired in September, and he was expected to become a free agent shortly.
Recent reports indicated that Edge had been moved to WWE’s miscellaneous roster section, but there’s now an update on his status. According to PWInsider, Edge has been removed from WWE’s miscellaneous roster, although he still appears on WWE.com’s public roster. However, internally, he’s no longer listed as part of the company.

Speculation has arisen that Edge may have the freedom to sign with any promotion starting on October 1, which coincides with AEW’s WrestleDream pay-per-view event. There have been ongoing rumors that some within the company believed Edge might be headed to AEW after failing to reach a contract extension agreement with WWE.
We’ll continue to provide updates on Edge’s status as more information becomes available.
