The WWE Women’s Championship took center stage in a high-stakes Triple Threat Match at WWE Fastlane. Defending her title, IYO SKY faced fierce competition from Asuka and Charlotte Flair, the latter added to the match by Bayley on SKY’s behalf.
Despite SKY’s initial request for Bayley to stay backstage, the wily competitor couldn’t resist and made a late appearance at ringside. Her presence almost proved costly with an ill-timed distraction, but Bayley redeemed herself. Distracting the referee at a critical moment when Charlotte had Asuka in the Figure Eight, Bayley paved the way for IYO SKY to execute an Over-The-Moonsault on The Queen, securing the pin and retaining her championship.
Celebrating the victory, SKY, who has held the title since cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase at Summerslam, shared the triumphant moment with Bayley and Dakota Kai after the bell.
