In a momentous victory, Ricky Starks and Big Bill clinched the AEW Tag Team Championships on the October 7 episode of AEW Collision, triumphing over FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler).
The decisive moment unfolded with Starks delivering a spear to Harwood, securing the win. Harwood had endured multiple chokeslams from Big Bill before the decisive spear, while Wheeler was sidelined by a chokeslam from Big Bill onto the announce table.
This marks the inaugural AEW Tag Team Championship reign for Starks and Big Bill. FTR had previously claimed the titles on the April 4 episode of AEW Dynamite by defeating The Gunns (Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) and successfully defended the titles eight times.
Starks and Big Bill earned their title opportunity after Starks pinned Harwood in an eight-man tag on the September 30 episode of AEW Collision.
