Kota Ibushi has officially joined the All Elite Wrestling roster.
During AEW Dynamite: Blood and Guts, The Elite transformed into The Golden Elite, with Kota Ibushi as their final member in a victorious Blood And Guts matchup against The Blackpool Combat Club. Since then, Ibushi has been a regular presence at AEW events, participating in notable shows like All In and WrestleDream.
In an interview with HD Subs, Kota confirmed his AEW contract, outlining specific conditions he negotiated. These conditions included residing in Japan, reduced scheduling commitments, and more. AEW agreed to these terms, leading to Kota Ibushi signing with the promotion following the success at Blood And Guts.
“During the discussion, they asked me how we could come to a deal. I said unless it has these conditions, I don’t want to sign a contract. That was the hardcore match, double ring, cage. That’s the day we signed the contract. We had a verbal agreement.”
I’m based in Japan, and I will travel for the matches. Basically I’m in Japan, I work in Japan. I will be active. There are other things that make the contract even more flexible. Like I could appear for other promotions.”
