PWInsider has reported that Nick Aldis, former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, is scheduled to make his WWE TV debut on the October 13 episode of SmackDown. According to the report, Aldis will take on the role of an on-screen authority figure for the SmackDown brand going forward.
WrestleVotes provided an additional update, mentioning that there were discussions in the last month about potentially having Aldis’ wife, six-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James, as a “co-GM” alongside him. However, it appears that this idea is not materializing at the moment.
WWE has announced that Triple H will be making an announcement on tonight’s SmackDown, leaving room for speculation that it could be related to Aldis’ debut. Notably, Aldis has been working as a backstage producer for WWE since the summer after departing from IMPACT Wrestling.
