It’s Night 5 of NJPW “SUPER Jr TAG LEAGUE 2023” ad we are pretty much at the half way mark of the tournament and we should now star to see who will emerage as potential winners and who will end up towards the bottom of the pile. The show took place at Tsuruga Castle Gymnasium in Fukushima, Japan.
Like last time on Night 4 in Saitama, Toru Yano, YOSHI-HASHI & Tomohiro Ishii of CHAOS defeated EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi & Dick Togo the HOUSE OF TORTURE again much to the enjoyment of most fans. Just 5 Guys duo of DOUKI & TAKA Michinoku pick up their first points of the competition as they get the win over YOH & Mushashi. Titan and BUSHI are also trying to turn things around and they started this on this night as they manged to defeat one of the 4 leading teams in Kevin Knight & KUSHIDA to pick up their 2nd win so far.
With the other Front running team of Kanemaru & SHO also suffering a loss on the night, all eyes where on the main event as the winners would be the tournament fornt runners. It saw the unlikely pairing of Masta Wato and El Desperado vs the IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team champions Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney the BULLET CLUB War Dogs. In the end and somehow the team of Wato and Despey pick up another win and this time over the champions too. This means no only do they have a win over the champns in case of a tie breaker situation, but also for the future case of claiming a title shot if they do not win this tournament. They now stand alone on top of the stanings.
