Night 9 was the final night of league matches and saw a lot of big names feture in the none tournament matches on the undercard. The show today took place at Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium in Osaka, Japan.
First, we saw YOH & MUSASHI end their tournament on a strong note as the picked up the win to potentially deny the Titan & BUSHI a spot in the finals. Similar to this, TMDK’s Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita bested the IWGP Jr Tag Team Champions Clark Connors & Drilla Moloney to make sure they would not any chance at making into the the finals.
With these 2 results, it ment it was down to the 4 teams competitng in the semi-main & main event to see who would take their place to compete in the finals of this years Super Jr Tag League. The semi main saw Francesco Akira & TJP take on Kevin Knight & KUSHIDA. At this point they could not focus on ifs and buts about any tie breaker situations that could happen, priority was to win as that would give either team the best shot at making the finals. After a great match it was Francesco Akira & TJP who got the win pretty much securing them a spot in the finals. The main event would see who they would face. The odd ball combination of Master Wato & El Desperado have made it all they way to this point as they go up against the cheating antics of Yoshinobu Kanemaru & SHO and we all know who everyone was chearing for. At last it ended up being a bad ending as Master Wato & El Desperado fell at the hands of House of Torture antics of Kanemaru and Sho.
So the Finals of the 2023 Super Jr Tag League has been set and its a rematch from the night 8 main event. It will be TJP & Francesco Akira (Catch 2/2) vs SHO & Yoshinobu Kanemaru (HOUSE OF TORTURE). Will the United Empire duo repeat the same result and win it all or will the House of Torture team bring some new antics and tricks to the table to give everyone the worst outcome possible. The Finals is set for NJPW “POWER STRUGGLE 2023” on November 4 which will take place at EDION Arena Osaka.
