This impressive feat solidifies his status as the longest-reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in history, surpassing the previous record set by Shingo Takagi with his 211-day reign, which concluded on January 4th, 2022. SANADA’s reign at 212+ days will still add more days as his next defence of the title is set for Wrestle Kingdom 18 on January 4 2024 meaning his reign will at the very least surpass 250+ days.
