According to Tokyo Sports, Tetsuya Naito is scheduled to undergo right eye surgery on November 7th. Naito will be undergoing his third procedure to address the superior oblique muscle paralysis in his right eye, a condition that has been causing him double vision since it was first identified in 2019. Regrettably, this surgery will necessitate his absence from the forthcoming NJPW World Tag League 2023 tour, leading up to his highly anticipated IWGP World Heavyweight Title match at Wrestle Kingdom on January 4th.
Naito should be ready and healed by the time the Tokyo Dome Main event rolls around. Will El Ingobernable be 100% and will he be able to defeat and dethrone former stable mate, the longest-reigning IWGP World Heavyweight Champion in history. We will wait and see. What does this mean for LIJ and World Tag League, well it seems like the power house duo of Yota Tsuji and Never Openweight Champion Shingo Takagi may be the team to represent the faction in the torunament.
