An update has emerged regarding former WWE star and ex-IMPACT Knockouts World Champion Mickie James, who is currently a free agent. Following her defeat to Trinity Fatu at IMPACT Bound For Glory 2023, James hasn’t appeared on IMPACT television.
A fan on Twitter observed James’ removal from the IMPACT roster page, prompting Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp to provide clarification. Sapp confirmed that Mickie James has been a free agent throughout her last stint with IMPACT, working without a contract since her return in 2021. During this two-year tenure, James secured the Knockouts World Championship twice and had a memorable “Last Rodeo” run.
Notably, James made a surprise return to WWE during the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble match, holding the IMPACT Knockouts World Championship at the time. As her status as a free agent continues, it remains uncertain whether Mickie James will return to WWE, join another promotion, or make a comeback to IMPACT when it transitions to TNA in 2024.
