A top WWE star is set to remain on the sidelines until 2024. Following his loss of the United States Championship to Logan Paul at WWE’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view, Rey Mysterio was attacked by Santos Escobar on the November 10 edition of SmackDown.
This assault, prompted by Carlito blaming Escobar for Mysterio’s defeat, serves as Mysterio’s exit from TV after revealing he underwent knee surgery in Birmingham, Alabama. Mysterio, grappling with a torn meniscus for the past three months, is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
His return is anticipated in time for the Royal Rumble, setting the stage for his resumption of the feud with Santos Escobar and the buildup to WrestleMania 40.
