Gunther is gearing up for his upcoming title defense at WWE Survivor Series against The Miz.
Despite being the longest-reigning WWE Intercontinental Champion, Gunther dismisses the idea of the Intercontinental Championship headlining WrestleMania 40. In an interview with Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo, Gunther acknowledges Seth Rollins’ impressive run with the WWE World Heavyweight Title and emphasizes the importance of respecting the established hierarchy.
While Gunther aims to elevate the Intercontinental Championship, he acknowledges that he’s prepared for the next step in his career.
“But I think there’s a ranking system and everything for a reason. I think it’s quite obvious that I outgrew the Intercontinental Championship already, I am ready to make that next step.”
