AEW had its fair share of backstage incidents in the year 2022, with Eddie Kingston and Andrade both having altercations with Sammy Guevara, and the infamous All Out media scrum, there was also another incident where two popular AEW superstars were also involved in an altercation last year and could’ve got a lot worse but was managed to be sorted out early.
Fightful Select reports that there was an incident with Ricky Starks and Swerve Strickland after their match at Double or Nothing for the AEW World Tag Team Championships. It notes that there was a ‘scuffle’ between the two superstars.
At apparently started from miscommunication in the match, which led to Strickland attack Starks after a pin attempt, in an unplanned spot in the match.
The original plan saw Starks go for his finish, but Swerve decided that it would be better to improvise getting hit and thrown out of the ring so he wouldn’t just be standing around watching the action unfold.

The pair also reportedly had a segment on Dynamite that was later cut, but the two sorted things out after that and remain fine to this day, having wrestled matches after the altercation happened.
The news came from Starks and Strickland when they were speaking on an episode of Strickland’s podcast whilst on the Jericho cruise.
