Contract Expiry Looms for Major Impact Wrestling Star

There have been recent developments regarding the contract situation of a former IMPACT World Champion, who has attracted interest from WWE.

According to Fightful Select (subscription required), as of a few weeks ago, Moose’s contract with IMPACT is set to expire in June.

It is worth noting that Moose signed a lucrative contract extension in 2021, just before his previous deal with the company was due to end.

In the lead-up to his potential free agency, Moose dropped hints about WWE’s interest in him.

He later confirmed that he had received offers from both WWE and AEW before ultimately deciding to re-sign with IMPACT Wrestling.

Fightful’s report highlighted that former WWE SVP of Talent Development, Canyon Ceman, had expressed specific interest in signing Moose.

Although Ceman is no longer with WWE, it was mentioned that there were proposals for Moose to debut directly on the main roster, similar to AJ Styles.

According to Fightful, Vince McMahon reportedly hesitated in giving the green light for this accelerated trajectory. However, with Triple H now overseeing creative decisions, he has introduced several former NXT stars to the main roster since taking on the role of WWE Chief Content Officer.

Currently, it remains uncertain whether WWE is still interested in signing Moose. Nevertheless, the powerhouse performer has been prominently featured since recommitting to IMPACT, notably capturing the IMPACT World Title at Bound For Glory 2021 and holding it for an impressive 182-day reign.
