Plans for Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler to pursue the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles have hit a roadblock, according to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The report suggests that the women’s tag titles have faced a curse since Rousey and Baszler were originally intended to win them at WrestleMania.
Unfortunately, due to Rousey’s injuries, the planned title change had to be scrapped. Instead, Rousey and Baszler participated in a four-way tag match where Rousey’s involvement was limited to protect her from further injury.
The timing of the storyline has also become a challenge for WWE, as Rousey had initially planned to take a break from the company after WrestleMania. Although Rousey recently made a return on Raw, the injury to Liv Morgan has complicated the situation. WWE will need to find a way to accelerate the storyline to align with Rousey’s contract and schedule before she takes her time off.
Originally, the plan was to establish Rousey and Baszler as champions and then progress with the intended storyline. However, the current circumstances have necessitated adjustments to these plans.
